Games Workshop has revealed a new miniature for Sanguinary High Priest Corbulo, the Blood Angels character who carries the Red Grail. Unveiled on November 5, 2026, the updated figure is part of a wider Blood Angels release planned for spring 2027. For miniature collectors, the reveal offers a striking new armored character with plenty of potential beyond his original setting.

What's New?

The official preview shows Corbulo in red power armor with white winged decoration, a raised skull-shaped grail and a chainsword. A second close-up shows an alternative head with a mechanical eyepiece and face covering. Medical equipment, elaborate armor details and a rocky base give the model a distinctive battlefield-healer appearance.

Games Workshop has confirmed the character and a spring 2027 window for the accompanying Blood Angels range, but has not announced a specific release date, price or complete kit contents. The preview should be treated as a model reveal, not a product currently available to order.

Using Corbulo in Gangfight

For Dark Stars, Corbulo could make an imposing armored medic, militant priest or veteran commander in a compact sci-fi gang. The raised grail suggests a ritual leader, while the chainsword and medical gear help tell the story of someone who can be both a healer and a dangerous frontline fighter.

The model is more heavily armored than a typical human trooper, so he would work best as a standout character rather than a generic recruit. A five-to-ten-model gang built around a few distinctive personalities is exactly where an elaborate sculpt like this can shine.

Painting and Conversion Possibilities

The studio's bright red and white scheme emphasizes the sculpt's ornate details, but the armor could look equally effective in weathered steel, dark blue or bone. A grimy surgical aesthetic would make an interesting contrast to the ceremonial grail. For a more original Dark Stars character, swapping or concealing the Blood Angels insignia would help separate him from the source faction.

Worth Watching

Corbulo is a strong candidate for hobbyists who enjoy characterful sci-fi miniatures, especially those looking for a memorable gang leader or specialist. With the release still months away, the next details worth watching are the final kit options, price and preorder date.
